I have always been connected to nature and the outdoors from a young age. I was provided with the amazing experience of growing up on the Jersey Shore three blocks from the beach. The connection and respect I gained for the ocean is really what inspired my passion for the planet and mother nature. Implementing sustainability and maintaining the beauty of my local environment has always been important to me.

After receiving my associate’s degree in environmental studies in 2021 I was searching for my next move. There was a lot of “unknown” as a result of COVID. Many people lost their jobs and those looking for work came up short. This weighed heavily on my decision making and I knew I wanted to put myself in a position where this would never be an issue. My goal was to find a career where I can implement sustainability within my local community. With 14 years of experience in the restaurant industry, I knew I could take the skills I’ve learned and transition them to almost any field. Ultimately, I decided agriculture would be a great path to embark on fulfilling my personal values and providing me with work that I was passionate about.

With a couple growing seasons under my belt, I decided to start Urban Harvest Homestead in January of 2024. My goal is to produce very high-quality vegetables on a small scale using organic and regenerative practices. I grow a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers which attract beneficial insects allowing me to avoid harsh herbicides and pesticides. My free ranging chickens do their part providing nitrogen for the soil and my customers with delicious eggs. My farm wouldn’t be a farm without my beautiful guardian dog, Opal.
